Mickey 17 trailer: Robert Pattison is on a quest to die in Bong Joon Ho’s sequel to Parasite. Watch

Fans finally have something to cheer about after the Oscar-winning Parasite by Bong Joon Ho, and that something is his next. The sci-fi film, Mickey 17, from the so-called genius director Bong Joon Ho starring Robert Pattinson dropped its trailer on Wednesday courtesy of Warner Bros. He plays an ‘expendable’ employee to be sent off for a human expedition.

Mickey 17 is written in the novel Mickey7 by Edward Ashton, wherein Robert Pattinson plays the role of Mickey Barnes, the unlikely hero, also referred to as an Expendable. This means an expendable entity, driven on a mission to the ice planet Niflheim with the intent to colonize.

The trailer starts off when his character says that, ‘Nothing was working out and I was trying to get off of Earth.” He very well is aware of the terms and conditions involved which would imply that every time he dies, a new version-or multiples-of him would be printed and produced. Trouble arises when he collides with his own multiple without having died, with both of them unable to stand each other.

Add to that a goofy accent from Robert Pattinson in the trailer, and he’s joined with a stellar ensemble cast that boasts Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo.

The science fiction film was initially set for release in March of this year. Warner Bros, however moved the release date of the sci-fi film to January 31, 2025. That dates allows Mickey 17 to open in IMAX, which wouldn’t have been possible otherwise because all those dates were already booked.
